Last night, I watched this Documentary about a musician from the 60’s known as Rodriguez that put out an album that was critically acclaimed. Record producers were convinced he would hit it big, but when they released his album in the US, nothing happened.
After a few unsuccessful gigs, Rodriguez decided to move on with his life and returned to Detroit to work as a blue-collar, hard laborer. For 30 years he did this, having no idea that in South Africa his album was selling hundreds of thousands of records, he became a household name. He never toured in their country despite his wild popularity, and because of this, rumor of a dramatic, tragic suicide spread and eventually inspired a couple fans to hunt down the truth.
Imagine their shock and joy when they discovered that he was, in fact, alive and well in Michigan? This story is incredible. I really enjoyed the film and it was put together extremely well.  If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. As well as downloading his albums. His music is awesome too.

We are creatures of the cosmos and have always hungered to know our origins to understand our connection with the universe. We are a way for the cosmos to know itself.
